The patent-pending FLARE Windshield was developed at Klock Werks out of a desire/need for stability at highway speeds and for racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The "hips" at the outer edge of the shield re-route the wind to add down force to the front of the bike, which aids stability vs. using a stock shield. The "flip" at the top of the FLARE is designed to kick the air up and then allow it to flow back as "clean" air for the rider.

The FLARE was designed to compete with the short stock shields. If you're riding one of those, you'll love to rock the FLARE! If you have a regular large windshield and are looking to add a sexy windshield as an option the FLARE adds downforce and great looks! In just the change of 3 or 5 bolts depending on application, you can enhance your motorcycle experience. Features:
  • Wind tunnel designed and tested, the “hips” provide added downforce while the “lips” direct air over the rider to help eliminate the swirl of air found in front of the rider on standard windshields
  • Lexan® Polycarbonate with FMR hard coating is used to create these custom-molded designs with unmatched durability; 8” clear is paintable and can be left clear or painted to match the fairing
  • All are predrilled for easy mounting using stock windshield hardware

Technical Specs:
  • Stock shields allow the air to dive down behind the shield and boil around in a choppy, turbulent effect. The FLARE kicks the air out to the sides and up, allowing the wind to come back at the rider in a much cleaner fashion - TRANSLATION is your riding glasses won't want to bounce or lift off your face.

    The final and absolute most important effect is added downforce as verified by testing in the A2 Wind Tunnel in Mooresville, N.C. The results found that with a stock, short windshield there was 30-35 lbs of measurable lift at highway speeds, meaning your bike is a KITE. Rocking the FLARE adds 10-15 lbs of downforce on the front of the bike at the same speeds. Why not add a spoiler to the front of your bike? Downforce is the biggest advantage of the FLARE, no competitor piece offers this level of performance!

I bought  the 6" flare windshield for my 2004 ultra. I love it. The bike seems to handle better. I also like it because I can see over it. I have yet to test it in the rain. The stock shield you can't see in the rain. The only problem is my wife gets twice as much air than with the stock shield. I told her it's not coming off because I love it. I guess I'll have to listen to her whine. p.s. keep up the good work Brian

10.5" KLOCK WERKS WINDSHIELD & Ride Shack July 29, 2009

Like no other windshield ever made.  Period!  What made it better is Mike at Ride Shack.  He is all about customer service, thanks Mike.

Installed the 10.5" on my custom Rune for highway speeds and will order the 3.5" for around town.

Purchase the Klock Werks windshield from Ride Shack and you will never regret it.

BATWING Fairing June 23, 2009

Last week, I purchased the Klock Werks FLH Batwing Fairing for my 2006 HD Ultra Classic.  I've tried several different windshields over the years; from the standard windshield that came with my bike when it was new to this one.

I took it for a ride down Hwy 25 which is a 45 mile ride that is winding and has two five long straight stretches.

It actually made the bike handle better through the curves and I had it on the straights at over a hundred (no law enforcement down there).   The bike felt like it was on rails and in the straights, it actually held the road like it was pushed down.  I usually have to wear a face shield or a mask so my face doesn't get beat up by the air coming at me.  I was comfortable and was wearing a short helmet.

I give this windshield 5 stars, it was well worth the price.  Don't let anyone talk you into anything else because eventually you'll buy this one anyway.
